“Your kitchen sponge has more germs than your toilet seat” Aproko doctor tells Nigerians

Aproko Doctor, known by his real name Egemba Chinonso Fidelis, has recently shared an insight on Kitchen sponges. He revealed that kitchen sponge might be harboring more germs than a toilet seat.

This is a wake-up call for many people who may not have considered the potential hygiene hazards in their kitchens.

Aproko Doctor explained that kitchen sponges tend to accumulate an alarming amount of germs due to their infrequent replacement. He pointed out that these sponges have small holes that easily trap food particles, creating a perfect environment for bacteria to thrive. As a result, they become breeding grounds for various types of harmful germs.

In his plea to the public, Aproko Doctor emphasized the importance of regularly changing kitchen sponges, particularly for those who may have been using the same sponge for years. This simple act of replacing your sponge can go a long way in maintaining a cleaner and healthier kitchen environment, reducing the risk of contamination and foodborne illnesses.

He also added that people who could not change their sponges because they don’t have the money for it should use bleach on it to disinfect it.

He stated that they could also use their microwave which will help kill the microbes.
