Transfer: Arsenal to set to table £55m for Chelsea’s Champions League hero
Arsenal are expected to submit a £55million bid to Chelsea for Kai Havertz, according to The Times.
The Germany international is now ‘likely’ to leave Stamford Bridge this summer as the Blues look to offload many pf their players this summer.
The German valued at £70m by Chelsea and for this reason, Real Madrid, who were interested in signing the forward, had to pull out of the running.
Arsenal are now in the front queue of clubs looking to sign the player and will test their rivals with a cut-price bid.
New manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign an outright no.9 and has been linked with several such targets, suggesting Havertz is a more dispensable part of his plans.
Chelsea are willing to sanction some exits from Stamford Bridge in order to reduce their squad and generate funds.
Havertz scored in the final of the Champions League in 2021 as Chelsea beat Manchester City 1-0 to lift the trophy.
