Osimhen nets 100th club goal
Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, scored the 100th goal of his professional career from the penalty spot against Sassuolo on Sunday.
The Serie A champions were looking to claim their second win of the season.
Osimhen’s moment came in the 17th minute after a foul on Matteo Politano was reviewed by VAR and awarded as a penalty.
The 24-year-old confidently placed the ball into the net’s left side.
Osimhen’s knack for finding the back of the net has been evident throughout his career.
He had previously notched up an impressive 99 club goals across 192 appearances. Notably, he contributed 61 goals in 102 matches while playing for Napoli.
Additionally, he scored 18 times in 38 appearances for Lille in France’s Ligue 1 and found the net 20 times in 36 games during his time with RSC Charleroi in Belgium.
