Gov Abdulrazaq orders probe of alleged murder of media personality in Kwara
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara state has ordered security agencies to get to the root of the alleged murder of a new media personality.
The 27-year-old deceased, Yusuf Mubaarak, who hailed from Ilorin, went missing on Wednesday night, but his remains were found around the Unity Road axis in the Ilorin metropolis.
Friends, associates, and acquaintances buried him on Saturday evening amid tears.
In his reaction, Governor AbdulRazaq described the death of 27-year-old Yusuf Mubaarak as shocking and saddening under hazy circumstances.
He vowed that security agencies must investigate the painful incident.
In a statement by his spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye, in Ilorin on Saturday night, the governor expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of Mubaarak, his friends, and all the youth constituencies in the state.
“The Governor, himself a father, strongly condemns the cowardly violence meted to the lad and demands immediate and thorough investigation into the death of the promising chap to arrest and bring his assailants to justice.
“No resources should be spared to get justice for Mubaarak and his family. We charge the security agencies to cast their nets as widely as possible to answer all pending questions around his painful death”, he stated.
