EPL: Man City thrash Brighton 4-0 to go second
Manchester City hammered Brighton 4-0 on Thursday night, to go second behind Arsenal.
The Premier League champions came into one of their outstanding fixtures, four points behind the leaders.
However, they took a commanding three-goal lead in the first half, to settle themselves down.
Phil Foden scored twice as Manchester City closed the gap to one point.
Arsenal had moved four clear of City with a midweek win over Chelsea while Liverpool slipped up at Merseyside rivals Everton.
Pep Guardiola’s side responded with a fine performance on the south coast to keep their title fate in their own hands.
