Results From Gov Abdulrazaq’s Polling Unit Emerges


The results of the governorship and House of Assembly elections at the polling unit of the Kwara State governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq have emerged.

Naija News reports that the governor, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a second term, won his polling unit.

The results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revealed that the governor got 243 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 58 votes.

The governor, who cast his ballot at 12:45 pm at his Idi-Igba Polling Unit 004 of Adewole Ward in Ilorin West local government area, applauded the peaceful conduct of the exercise so far.

Abdulrazaq appreciated the staff of INEC for their early arrival earlier told pressmen after casting his vote.

Speaking about the voter turnout, he said “It’s been a mixed bag in terms of the turnout — appreciably large in some places and quite low in some areas — and we urge more people to come out.

“Going by the turnout in this polling unit, this is impressive. But nationwide, including in parts of Kwara State, the turnout is a bit lower than in the presidential and national assembly elections.

“On the BVAS, the reports so far show improvements, compared to the last elections”.
