Nigerian troops kill wanted bandit leader Kachallah Buzu and many terrorists in Zamfara (Video)

Troops from the Joint Task Force Northwest have eliminated notorious bandit commander, Kachallah Buzu and several of his fighters in Zamfara State.
The operation, which took place on the night of September 12, 2024, in Mayanchi village, was a result of an ambush laid by the military following intelligence reports on the terrorists’ movements.
According to a counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad area, Zagazola Makama, the ambush was highly effective, resulting in the elimination of numerous bandits, including their leader, Buzu.

The operation, which followed a planned ambush, was based on intelligence about the bandits’ movements.
He added that in addition to the significant loss of lives on the part of the insurgents, the troops seized 30 motorcycles and a substantial cache of weapons.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) in May 2024, declared Halilu Buzu who hailed from Niger wanted for his involvement in coordinating terrorist attacks against both troops and civilians
According to DHQ, Halilu Buzu was notorious for his involvement in illegal activities such as cattle rustling and illegal gold mining.
He was linked to a massacre in Farar Kasa where 19 villagers lost their lives. His camp and illegal gold mine, located in Zamfara State, serve as operational bases for his terrorist activities.
He was implicated as a major arms supplier, facilitating the flow of weapons from Libya, and often seeks refuge across the border in Niger to evade capture when pressure mounts from Nigerian forces.
