Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has called on the Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Adamu to advise other community leaders to be more proactive toward ensuring adequate security in the state.

Mohammed made the call in Bauchi on Wednesday when the Emir led his council members, district heads and other titleholders on a Sallah homage to the governor.

The governor also observed that through the Emir’s intervention, effective solutions could be proffered to some challenges posing a threat to the state, especially the issues of rape, kidnapping and other vices.

“We are grateful to God, to our traditional rulers, those dead and alive and other leaders, particularly Ulamas and the Clergy.

“We are grateful to you for this visit and we thank God for the gift of leaders like you.

“We are grateful for the support and co-operation we are getting from you and other leaders, especially for the respect for our government and the Federal Government.

“We urge you, as our leader in Bauchi State to continue to encourage all other Emirs and other leaders at all levels to be more proactive.

“Through their proactiveness, we will have adequate security and lasting solutions to the challenges bedevilling us, especially rape, kidnapping and lack of respect.

“These should be corrected so that there will be peace.

“We apologise to you for our shortcomings in government, we are imperfect before you as your followers.

“We are happy for the projects you mentioned, and we will continue to do that,” Mohammed said.

The governor further appreciated all the district heads, Imams and Pastors for their prayers.
