Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has responded to accusations of music theft leveled against him by his twin brother and former P-Square bandmate, Paul Okoye, sparking a social media frenzy.

The iconic duo, who once dominated Afrobeat and pop music with their chart-topping hits, have had a strained relationship since their split in 2017. Since then, Peter (Mr. P) and Paul (Rudeboy) have pursued solo careers, with both artists achieving considerable success in their respective paths.

The recent dispute began when Paul Okoye took to social media to accuse Peter of stealing one of his songs. In an Instagram post, Rudeboy alleged that he wrote and sang the song with a certain producer, who then hijacked it and gave it to his twin brother.

This comes aftr Mr P released a song titled ‘Winning’ following the group’s third breakup earlier this year. However, Rudeboy claimed that his brother recorded the song word for word with the same producer he worked with.

Rudeboy lamented that he submitted 6 songs to the so-called management and questioned why they were re-singing his song word for word.

Peter Okoye wasted no time responding to the accusation. In a Instagram post, he denied the allegations, insisting that his work was entirely original. He revealed that his latest song, dubbed ‘Winning’, which had recently been streamed over N1 million views, was composed by himself and someone Calypso Music.

Peter posted a tape of himself and calypso60music telling Paul what to sing in the track.

Peter revealed that Paul and their older brother Jude have contacted him via a lawyer and are trying hard to get the song taken down from music streaming services.

He captioned the tape, “Call us names, call us childish; it is fine… I understand, but anyone that says anything false about me and I have evidence, then I have a right to defend myself. Let’s stay WINNING. You claimed you wrote the song and you didn’t know any @calypso60music. Then how come @calypso60music and I are now telling you what to sing? And you still have the Audacity to call me OLORIBURUKU” smh.”

“JUST FOR THE RECORD GUYS! JUDE And PAUL written through a Lawyer and are doing everything possibly to take the song down from all Music Platform. But i will fight till the end. 🙅‍♂️ After Jude will come and lie to the public that he has had noting to do with Psqaure for 8 years but he is the one making phone calls and writing to letter to make sure my WINNING is taken down from all platforms. SMH.”

“With my full chest! @calypso60music and I wrote “WINNING.”
