“He gave his all” Co-player defends Alex Iwobi over incessant cyber bullying from Nigerians
Footballer Ahmed Musa, has taken to social media to defend his colleague, Alex Iwobi following all of the hateful comments that Nigeria has been aiming at him.
Ahmed Musa revealed that Nigerians needed to do better while he cautioned them to halt the cyberbullying directed towards Alex Iwobi.
He further stated that it was hypocritical for Nigerians to come out to state that football unites while also engaging in a behaviour that disunites us. He stressed on the fact that while he understands that losing a game is tough, Nigerians targeting a single player for a whole team’s shortcomings, was unfair and unjust.
He further expressed that Alex Iwobi had given his all on the field, just like every other member of the squad. In his words, he says,
“Dear fans, I want to please urge you to halt the cyberbullying directed towards Alex Iwobi. Cyberbullying is not just a violation of decency, but also a serious crime. It’s hypocritical to claim that football unites us while engaging in such behaviour. Losing a game is undoubtedly tough, but targeting a single player for the team’s shortcomings is unfair and unjust.
We win as a team and we lose as a team. Alex gave his all on the field, just like every other member of our squad. Instead of spreading negativity, let’s show genuine love and support to our players. They need our encouragement now more than ever. Let’s uplift each other and stand united, both in victory and defeat.”
Now recall that just a few minutes ago, Kemi Filani had reported that Falz had also defended Alex Iwobi as he expressed that Nigerians needed to curtail the level of cyberbullying that they were aiming towards him. He had also revealed that he had made an immense sacrifice to play for Nigeria and did not deserve to be treated the way that he was currently being treated.
