EPL: Mixed reactions from fans as Amorim recalls Rashford for Man Utd vs Newcastle
Fans have offered various opinions after it was confirmed that Marcus Rashford has been recalled by Ruben Amorim to Manchester United squad for the visit of Newcastle to Old Trafford, live on Monday Night Football.
Amorim has named the forward on the bench to face Eddie Howe’s side in United’s final game of 2024.
Rashford has not played since since being substituted in the 56th minute of United’s 2-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on December 12.
Since then, he has missed four games over the festive period – including the victory at Manchester City, as well as losses to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup and against Bournemouth and Wolves in the Premier League.
In @waleclef’s opinion, Amorim has seen the changes in Rashford. He said: “Good to see him finally proving to the coach he wants in. Whoever you are, if you misbehave.. you are out. If you turn a new leaf, you are in.
However, @KrishnaAnand_ feels that “He’s definitely gone, and has no future at United. If he plays, and gets a few goals, it might help in getting a decent value for him. No harm.”
For @AbsUnited, he was not happy to see Rashford. He tweeted: “I’d rather play anyone from youth and lose than play this tw4t.”
