Delta Police Apprehend Man For Allegedly Stabbing Neighbour To Death Over Rice
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a man, identified as Daniel Onyejekwe, for allegedly stabbing his neighbour, Christian, to death during a dispute over rice.
It was gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred on the 1st of January, 2025, in the Ogwanja area of Sapele, following an argument that escalated into a fatal altercation.
In a statement by the Command’s Spokesman, Bright Edafe, confirmed that the 30 years old suspect in now in police custody.

He said: “It is confirmed, and the suspect is in custody. The two were fighting and injured themselves badly. Unfortunately, one, Christian, died.”

Also speaking over the incident, an eyewitnesses, who refused to disclose his identity, told PUNCH that the altercation started when rice was being shared along Boyo Road in Ogwanja.
He added that an argument ensued between Onyejekwe and the deceased, leading to a physical fight.
The witness said: “Christian and Daniel started dragging the rice, and during the fight, Daniel picked a bottle and stabbed Christian multiple times.
“The vigilante rushed him to the hospital, but he was confirmed dead on arrival.”
